En route in Tees Barrage

If the rain is not filling the rivers with water you have to drive to artificial whitewater courses. So Dan, Dave, Matt and I drove to the Tees Barrage Whitewater Centre near Middlesbrough, an artificial whitewater channel, which is similar to the "Eiskanal" in Augsburg (Germany). Filled with concrete and many plastic fittings it doesn’t have the flair of a natural whitewater section, however, the two possible sections work well. The second channel, built just a few years ago, is a ripsnorter. It is extremely short, therefore has a steep gradient. Especially the last "drop” which invites many a one for subsequent rolls.
